Week 3 has come to an end. Second week of full lockdown! How’s everyone feeling? Was anyone else hoping that someone was going to wish us all a Happy April Fools Day and tell us that all this was one big prank? It’s getting tougher as the days go on but as always trying to remain positive. The one thing making me mad is that there are still people ignoring the rules and heading out to sunbathe in the parks or the beach, or going over friends houses for bbq’s while we’ve got this sunny weather. These people are the ones elongating the problem. I’d love to go and spend the weekend at the beach with my parents or go round a friends house for a bbq but ending this problem and protecting the people who are working their butts off during this time is way more important right now. Rant over!
Some good news… I finished watching Tiger King at the end of last week, the programme hot on everyones lips at the moment. It’s taken me a little while to digest what I’d watched. Who else has seen it? I still have so many questions! I don’t know why or what was going on half the time but I couldn’t stop watching. For you who haven’t seen it, it’s worth a watch while in isolation.
This week has mainly involved work. It’s getting harder not being able to go in to the office. I’m finding myself moving around the house a lot more than usual as I find staying in one place for too long I start to feel a bit tired and I lose concentration. Anyone else having that feeling? Even watching Frank makes me sleepy… he literally sleeps all day, no lie. Overall though, it’s been an ok week.

I’ve also been trying to keep the evenings as productive as possible. This week we’ve been doing some HIT workouts in the garden, going for walks with the dog, I’ve taken up reading and writing again, and I’ve also been playing round with some new ideas which has been exciting. I find keeping busy helps the time pass a little quicker and I don’t stop to think, and let my mind wander and overthink things. If anyone is feeling down or feeling anxious about things, I’d recommend planning your week and think of some activities you can do. I’s helped me keep my mind off things quite a lot. Like anyone though I still have my down days, and that’s ok too <3.
This weekend has been great fun. We had pizza delivered on Friday and I watched a film and Saturday was a bit more eventful. After our once a day walk with the dog, hubby and I sat in the garden with some cold beers. We had the music playing and spent the afternoon playing games and chilling. I had ordered some board/card games to be delivered during the week so we had some new games to play. We had a little break to watch the virtual Grand National. Did anyone else place a bet? I won a fiver which was a nice little treat.

I’d moved to the gin before our Saturday evening call with my parents. My dad had numbered all their large Jenga blocks so that we could play Jenga virtually. Funnily enough we won both the games, not quite sure how! It was interesting to say the least. After a couple of games we turned to a game of Play Your Cards Right. A great game after a few drinks but not so much when it’s a brand new pack of large cards which my dad obviously didn’t shuffle. Every time a card was turned it would be the next consecutive card in the same suit. It was fun never the less.

The call went on for hours, we were playing games, chatting, having Alexa vs Google Home competitions and listening to music. It was a great evening, but a little bittersweet. As great as Facetime is, and it definitely is a saviour during this current situation, our call made me really miss being face to face with them, having a few glasses of wine with them. I miss social interactions and cuddles. I won’t ever take seeing family and friends for granted ever again.

This morning was a bit of a struggle. I actually felt slightly hungover and the first half of the day was an absolute write off. This afternoon has been much more productive, we’ve cleared the shed and organised it, built our BBQ we had last Christmas and this evening we’ve had a lovely quiz by Liz with the girls and their partners. Missing them all so much. I can’t wait to have a big party with them all as soon as this is all over.

Anyways, we've just lit the fire pit, I’m in my pj’s, got myself a cuppa and I'm going to enjoy the rest of this lovely evening.
Sending happy thoughts and positive vibes <3
