Happy Easter to you all. I hope you’ve had a lovely Bank Holiday weekend even though lockdown is still in play. The sun has been shining so that’s been great. I’ll be honest though, all in all, this week has been pretty shitty! Quarantining is starting to get to me and being left alone with my thoughts for long periods of time is getting really overwhelming. I’m struggling to switch my mind off which then stops me from sleeping which has been the case all week. Has anyone else been feeling the same?

I’ve had a pretty busy week with work, there’s been a lot of zoom calls with clients which has meant the days have gone by pretty quickly and meant that the bank holiday came round quite fast!

With it being a pretty crappy week I decided to make a full Easter weekend plan to keep busy and active:

Friday

This was our day to get Hinching! Cleaning the house from top to bottom was part one of the day. Anyone else finding that being in the house 247 causes more mess than usual? We definitely weren’t keeping on top of things and it just built up. Cleaning always makes me feel better…clean house clean mind! Part 2 of the day was to completely clear the spare bedroom and organise the cupboard. It’s been on the to do list for so long, so with spending so much time at home, we had no excuses.

We had earned a few beers by the end of the afternoon so we walked to the local chippy (our one walk for the day), got some grub and spent the rest of the evening chilling in the garden.

We’ve lived in Malpas since last July and have still never completed the walk to Caerleon, so that was first on the to do list. How amazing was the weather by the way? I think we got to 23 degrees. We got the dog ready and started walking. Not sure it was the best day for an 8km walk, it was so hot, and we made the mistake of not taking any water but it was so good to get out in the sunshine.

Once we were back we just chilled in the garden. I read a bit of my book, we played some cards and then chilled with a beer as the sun went down. Something I would say during this lockdown, I’ve definitely been enjoying a few more beverages than usual… what else is there to do though right?

Sunday

That brings us to today and I’ve had a very productive day. I was up early, put my baking hat on and made some chocolate orange brownies. I’m actually addicted to them now. As it was Easter I thought I would pack some up while they were warm and make a doorstep delivery to Liz and her parents. Why not share the yumminess. To deliver I made sure I was dressed in my running gear so that I had no excuse not to go for a run. I think I’ve been saying I would go for about 6 months and haven’t once gone. Today I went… and I’m super glad I did. It made me feel so much better.

Before I left I also hid some Lindor chocolates around the house as a mini easter egg hunt for Ben as a bit of fun which he found pretty easily. Pretty sure he has special senses to sniff out chocolate.

The rest of the afternoon has been pretty chilled. I’ve had a zoom call with my American family which was lovely. Great to catch up with them and hear how they’re getting on in lockdown. Sunday nights have now become a quiz night with the girls and partners, so that’s what I have been doing this evening. Tonight I was a one person team though, Ben had already made plans. It’s safe to say I didn’t win. Great fun though, miss them all loads.

Anyway all in all it’s been a shitty week but a lovely weekend. I’ve just run a bath and am going to relax with a bit of One Tree Hill before bed. It feels good knowing that it’s a bank holiday tomorrow.

Night all.

Sending happy thoughts and positive vibes <3
